Medical and health tourism in a resort triangle

Alena Kudilkova, Director of the Czech Tourism, National Tourist Board of the Czech Republic

- The national stand of the Czech Republic includes 9 partners, representing mainly the Health Tourism. Among them is the Karlovy Vary region, which is called the ‘spa triangle,’ because it includes Karlovy Vary, Mariánské Lázně, Frantiskovy Lázně and other health resorts. Here, Karlovy Vary informs about health resorts and opportunities for active leisure and interesting sights. Imperial and Spa Resort Sanssouci hotels from Karlovy Vary introduce their services to the exhibition visitors.

The resort of Marianske Lazne is specialized in the treatment of kidney ailments, female diseases, cardiovascular diseases, etc. The spa resort Luhačovice is involved in the treatment of asthma, including the diseases of the upper respiratory tract, etc. The resort Teplice specializes in the diseases of the musculoskeletal system using thermal water. The resort of Janske Lazne is specialized in the diseases of the musculoskeletal system in children, congenital paralysis, etc.

The travel companies Astra Travel, Saxana Travel and Vedi Tour are also present at our stand; they specialize in medical tourism, and offer full travel packages.

We expect the launch of the Baku-Prague seasonal direct flight soon; it will guarantee regular flights between our countries.

Our goal is to increase tourist flows from Azerbaijan; currently, their number is about 10 thousand people per year.

We will also be glad to see representatives of travel agencies willing to cooperate with their Czech partners.
